2024

The Seniors were proud to provide the same events and programs as 2023

• Several members participated in the East Beaches VIP Bus trip to Folklorama again

• The Seniors supported and several members attended the Leslie Blasing fundraiser concert held at the Birchwood Hotel in August .

• The Annual Christmas Dinner was held at the Stead Community hall again and was well attended and enjoyed by all.

2023

The Seniors were proud to provide the following events and programs in 2023. 

• Free Income Tax preparation for lower income people

• Coffee mornings at Spirit Rock Café

• Special guest speakers at club meetings

• Crib Nights

• Spanish Lessons

• Tai Chi 

• Yoga

• Various social events shown below

We look forward to an even busier year in 2024. 

The Annual Community Christmas Dinner was held at the Stead Community Hall on December 13, 2023. A fun evening was enjoyed by almost 60 people. We had live music. A tasty dinner was catered by Chef In The House. There were lots of Door and Silent Auction prizes and a 50/50 draw.

Several Club Members participated in an East Beaches  VIP Bus Trip to The Winnipeg Folklorama on August 17 2023 including The German, Hungarian and Spanish Pavilions.

The Club held a Fundraiser Dinner at the Sandbar Hotel on August 13 including a chicken Dinner and music provided by The Bird River Band

The Club held their annual Christmas Dinner on December 12, 2022 at the Sandbar Hotel in Grand Marais with 69 people in attendance. 

The evening included a delicious turkey dinner, several door prizes and a 50/50 fundraiser for the club.

2022

• In The Fall of 2022 the Seniors sponsored weekly Yoga classes up to November 10. These classes were well received and attended by many participants.

• In the Fall of 2022 the Seniors sponsored weekly Spanish lessons at the Grand Marais Community Centre. These classes were well received and attended by many participants.

• Presentation by Connie Newman from MASC on benefits of MASC Membership and information for Manitoba Seniors. October 17, 2022 General Meeting.

• Presentation by Samantha Holland of the Alzheimer's Society on Dementia Diagnoses and Effects. September 12, 2022 General Meeting.

• During the Summer of 2022 the Seniors sold hot dogs and snacks at the Farmers Markets each Friday afternoon at the Grand Marais Community Centre as a fund raiser for a bursary

• Bud Spud and Steak Night Fundraiser at Sandbar Hotel. Fall 2022

• Sponsored 1 Day First Aid/AED/CPR Course for four Seniors Club members. Spring 2022

• Sponsored multi-day Mobility Fitness for Older Adults program for several Seniors Club Members by Sara Gillis. Fall 2021
